Ideally, a poster design should be simple and memorable. Having an interesting image as a starting point is the most effective way of accomplishing this. Crowding the poster with too much information can often be counterproductive. I try to limit the text only to what is absolutely necessary. People don't often have time to peruse all the posters and ads they might encounter on a city street. However, if they see an image that is compelling they are more likely take a moment to read the contents. A poster is successful when it stimulates the curiosity of the viewer.
